Former Test player Brijesh Patel will replace Charu Sharma as CEO of the beleaguered BangaloreRoyal Challengers in the Indian Premier League, while coach Venkatesh Prasad's job too is reportedly sacked from his job.
Prakash Mirpuri, a spokesman with the company that owns the Bangalore franchise of the IPL confirmed that Sharma had "stepped down", paving way for Patel."Charu Sharma has stepped down from the post due to personal reason and Brijesh Patel would now take over thereins. Patel would be in Kolkata tomorrow for the team's match against Kolkata Knight Riders on Thursday," Mirpuri told news agencies.
The performance of the Bangalore side has been far from impressive with the Rahul Dravid-led squad losing five of their seven matches, winning just two. They are currently placed seventh in the points table of the eight-team event.
